A batch of 50 units 3-axle skeleton trailers manufactured by TrailersChina has successfully arrived at the Port of Mombasa, marking a new milestone in supporting East Africa’s fast-growing container transport sector. The trailers will be delivered to a major logistics fleet operating in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, helping improve regional cargo efficiency across the Northern and Central Corridors.
The shipment departed from Qingdao Port earlier this month and arrived at the Port of Mombasa as scheduled. Mombasa is one of Africa’s busiest and most important seaports, serving as a gateway for international trade and inland container distribution.
Upon arrival, all 50 units of skeleton trailers completed unloading and port inspection smoothly. The customer expressed satisfaction with the trailer quality and delivery speed.
The customer, a large East African logistics operator, selected TrailersChina after comparing multiple suppliers in China and other markets. The key advantages included:
Designed for heavy-duty container transport, the trailers use Q345 high-strength steel, providing excellent durability on East African road conditions.
The trailers feature a universal container locking system, compatible with all standard containers, making them suitable for port, terminal, and long-distance transportation.
Considering the mixed road quality in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, the trailers were upgraded with:
· reinforced main beams
· stronger cross-members
· heavy-duty suspension and axles
These improvements enhance stability and extend trailer lifespan.
The factory completed production of all 50 units within 35 days, ensuring on-time shipment.
With the rapid growth of East African trade, demand for efficient container transportation has increased significantly. Skeleton trailers are now one of the most widely used trailer types in the region due to their:
· lightweight design
· fast loading/unloading
· lower fuel consumption
· suitability for long-distance transport
This delivery will help the customer expand their container fleet, reduce operating costs, and improve logistics capacity across regional routes connecting Mombasa → Nairobi → Kampala and Mombasa → Arusha → Dar es Salaam.
The customer stated:
“We are very satisfied with the quality of the trailers and the production efficiency.
CIMC is professional and reliable. We look forward to more cooperation this year.”
The customer has already shown interest in purchasing another 40 units in the second quarter to support fleet expansion.
